Pandemic resilience
This project reflects the global emergency presented by COVID-19. Its overarching goal is to directly support impactful and practical AI initiatives to help in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. It has two outputs:
- an update and upgrade of the catalog of practical initiatives that the subgroup commissioned in 2020, transforming it into a living repository; and
- an evaluation of initiatives to identify impactful and scalable initiatives that benefit from partnership with GPAI.
The insights from these activities are envisioned to help establish research/technology for fighting against future epidemics/pandemics.
Objectives
The short-term outputs of the project are:
- Updated and upgraded The Future Society catalogue, which is transformed into a living repository of AI initiatives for pandemic response.
- Evaluation of 1-3 of the most promising initiatives in terms of impact, effectiveness, and scalability.
